Short Bio
Ginger’s first encounter with fiber arts was at age eight, when she took up knitting for a 4-H project. This was enough to get her hooked, and she then went on to venture into needlework of all sorts, including needlepoint, bargello work, crewel embroidery, crochet, and anything else tactile. She began spinning at around age 20 when she saw a beautiful woman drop spindling in the corner of the room during a meeting for a group that specializes in medieval reenactment. They would become lifelong friends and still enjoy doing fiberarts together. To make a long story short, Ginger then took a deep dive into learning as much as she could, particularly about historical textile arts. Now, after 40 years of teaching classes and working as an artist herself, it is time to embrace this world of touch and texture even more.
